The Tiverton Hot Air Balloon & Music Festival is an exciting aerial extravaganza taking place on the 10th, 11th & 12th July 2015 at the combined Tiverton High School & Petroc College campus just minutes off Junction 27 of the M5 motorway.
Now in its fifth year the festival combines Hot Air Balloons, Live Music & Comedy, Trade Stands, Educational Workshops provided by local staff and students, Poetry & Story Readings, diverse catering and an eclectic mix of other attractions.
More than 40 hot air balloons are set to take to the skies on Friday evening from approximately 6pm and from approximately 7am and 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
On Friday and Saturday we have evening entertainment provided by our much anticipated ‘Night Glow’ where balloon teams perform a fire and light show choreographed to music alongside fire jugglers and a lantern procession.
On Saturday and Sunday afternoon we have balloons tethering (i.e tied to the ground) and spectacular displays in the Main Ring, plus competitions involving mixed teams of public and balloonists and the opportunity to closely view the balloons and talk to pilots and crew.
Please note all ballooning activities are subject to weather and may be cancelled at short notice.
As in previous years the festival is a ‘not for profit’ event and in 2014 we were proud to donate more than £8,000 to worthy causes, including over £3,600 each to Devon Air Ambulance & Children’s Hospice South West. This brings the total to £33,650 donated over the past 4 years!
