The Forest Row Village Market was launched on Saturday 7th April 2012. With over fifty stallholders the event has a buzzy and festive outdoor atmosphere reminiscent of Provence and Portobello all in one. From hand crafted jewellery to retro collectibles as well as a huge selection of fine foods and drinks from the area and beyond, the market offers the masses a chance to sample local artistry to the full.
Now coming up to its third birthday, the event is going from strength to strength with a good following of stallholders and visitors.
The selection of fine foods is the market's major attraction with foods from all around the world as well as from the many surrounding farms and producers. It has become one of the largest markets in East Sussex and attracts an average of 500+ visitors.
Situated in the beautiful village of Forest Row, the market is at the centre of the Village's bustling array of shops and businesses making it the perfect destination for a family day out! The outdoor space is set up in an alley type formation around the main food court where you can have a quick bite whilst listening to an array of musical acts on the central bandstand.
The market also offers various 'add-on' events that happen each month in the form of storytelling, puppet shows, family films and art exhibitions. A full programme runs throughout the year and more information on these events can be found on the website.
The market is held on the first Saturday of each month from March to December from 10am to 3pm, the December market being an evening affair and starts at 3pm and ends at 8pm, a magical and twinkly experience with many Christmas events throughout the village.
