'Once A Year At One Of Our Markets All The Tables Will Be Free For Our Participating Businesses And We Fund Two Small Start-Ups Per Year'

Hello,

My  name is Maria I arrange and host Craft and Small Business Markets.

I started doing indoor  markets aimed at mums for selling on their preloved babies items and small businesses as a local platform for showcasing their products and services.

Because of this Maesteg Council approached me in 2013 to do an indoor Food and Craft market as part of their annual Gwyl Maesteg Festival.  This was successful and they invited me back the next year to host the market in their newly refurbished market square.  An even bigger success.  I am now well into planning this year’s event.

Craft and Small Business Markets grew from this.  I am very passionate about small businesses as I feel that they can offer many things that the giants cannot.  Excellent customer service, they know their customers by name., they can give a truly personal service.  The quality of their products far out strips chain shop bought products.

We have had just complete the second of our Pencoed Craft and Small Business Markets, both very successful.  A huge benefit to both the businesses involved and the community in general.

As part of our activities we host fundraising markets for Sands, our first one on 20^th June in Pencoed, we will be hosting pamper evenings, currently at the planning stage, once a year at one of our markets all the tables will be free for our participating businesses and we fund two small start-ups per year.

We are proud to be able to support both the small business and community in our small way and hope that we can help more in the future.
