'Every Year The Hospice Holds A Huge Variety Of Events Including Coffee Mornings, A Teddy Bears Picnic And A Christmas Fair '
Greater London | 13.05.2015

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice is a registered charity that provides free specialist end of life care to approximately 2,500 adults with life-limiting illnesses living in the London Boroughs of Greenwich and Bexley each year. It is the only provider of specialist palliative care in Greenwich and Bexley and for the past 20 years has championed quality and choice in end of life care. Its catchment area covers an area of approximately 40 square miles and a population of around 500,000.

The Hospice does not charge for its services, and only one third of its funding comes from the NHS, which means the Hospice has to rely on the support of local people, businesses, community groups and its network of 17 shops to raise £4million annually to continue its work.

Every year the Hospice holds a huge variety of events including Coffee Mornings, a Teddy Bears’ Picnic and a Christmas Fair to raise funds. These are all longstanding and well attended events with over 300 families visiting the Teddy Bears’ Picnic which takes place in the stunning hospice grounds. The popular Coffee Mornings are a great opportunity for supporters to get together over a nice cup of tea and some delicious homemade cake and then browse through the range of hospice and external stall holders. The Hospice is always on the lookout for external stall holders to come to our events and add variety and interest for our supporters. Our stall fees start from £20 and we ask for a donation to our raffle.

Our stallholder events for the rest of the year are as follows:

•       Saturday 4th July – Summer Coffee Morning (£20 stall fee)

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice would love to hear from stall holders who can support our 2015 Coffee Mornings. Wed love to hear from anyone who makes and sells their own jams and preserves, sells unusual gifts, beautiful home ware items or fun games /toys for children.
Our Coffee Mornings take place four times a year in the Day Hospice in Abbey Wood and are supported by over 100 local people. All proceeds, including the external stall fees, help us to raise the £4 million we need to continue to provide free specialist palliative care to those people in our community with life limiting illnesses.

Our tables are £20 each and we also ask for a donation to our raffle.

•       Saturday 29th August – Teddy Bears’ Picnic (£30 stall fee)

Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice will be organising our ever popular Teddy Bears Picnic on Saturday 29th August between 1.30pm and 4.30pm.

This is a ticketed event for families with toddlers and preschool aged children. Last year over 300 families attended and we are hoping to attract around 500 this year.

On the day there will be a selection of Hospice run stalls (tombolas, raffle jewellery), a BBQ, bouncy castles and we are looking for other fun family stalls / games to attend.

Our spaces are £30 each and we also ask for a donation to our raffle.
