Event Details
Wakefield Council is pleased to announce the launch of our festive markets season with Wakefield Christmas Market on 17th and 18th November 2017. The market will be held alongside the outdoor market on the pedestrian precinct against the picturesque backdrop of Wakefield Cathedral within easy reach of car parks and public transport links. We are currently looking to attract traders selling high quality produce, Christmas themed goods, hand-made goods, unique crafts and gifts and scrumptious hot food to create a vibrant and varied market. The Christmas lights switch-on will take place at 5.30pm on 17th November.

Stalls cost £50 and catering pitches are £65 and traders must attend both days. Traders are asked to wear their Christmas jumpers and decorate their stalls in keeping with the theme. Public liability insurance with a minimum cover of £5M per claim is mandatory for traders at all of our markets. Food traders must be registered with the Environmental Health Department at their home local authority and achieve a minimum rating of 3* on their local authority rating scheme (i.e. FSA rating scheme or 'Scores on the Doors').
