Event Details
Time and Tide Events are back for their third year of Medieval Mischief. Across the weekend, the Castle will be open free of charge, allowing visitors to step back in time once more…

The artisan market specialists will bring with them stalls boasting heritage crafts, gifts and food and drink a-plenty, which will be spread out across the Castle Keep and Black Gate.

There will also be immersive elements, including craft activities for children and demonstrations from musicians, jongleurs, and swordsmen and women.

NOTE:

The Castle consists of two buildings: the Castle Keep and Black Gate. While the Black Gate is fully accessible, the Castle Keep has many steep stairs and uneven surfaces. Those who suffer from claustrophobia, vertigo or a nervous disposition are advised to speak with a member of staff in our Black Gate reception before climbing the stairs.

The Castle Keep is a Scheduled Ancient Monument with several upper storeys which are not accessible to disabled visitors. The Black Gate, however, has been fitted with ramps and an external lift. The building also has an adapted accessible toilet on its first floor and Second Floor.www.facebook.com/events/231686430557638/
Car Parking Information
The site is a Grade 1 National Monument, with double yellow lines all round. There is limited pay and display and disabled parking. There are many long stay carparks in the vicinity and access by National Rail, Tyne & Wear Metro and Buses nearby
