The people of Cannock were asked what they wanted. You wanted food, retail stalls, demonstrations and displays and live entertainment so that's what we at LR Partnership Events are going to organise, local people organising local events, happy days !
We will have CANNOCK WALKING STREET in the town centre kicking off with St Georges Day celebration on Thursday 23th of April, Saturday the 4th of July and Saturday 26th September. Why CANNOCK WALKING STREET? In Thailand they block off several streets usually on a Saturday or Sunday evening and everyone meets up, socialises, eat and drink and walk up in the pedestrianised area browsing.
April 23rd will be 3pm until 9pm and July 4th and September 26th will be 1pm until 7pm. The reasoning behind this is it's school finishing time kids and Mums/Dads, can come after school and students after college. Retirees can enjoy the afternoon and be able to get buses in and out. From 5 pm you can catch a bite to eat after work and relax, then later on, those coming into town can enjoy for a couple of hours before moving to pubs. We have had a great success with Stafford Walking Street we wanted to bring the same fun filled event to Cannock. We will advertise what the pubs have on in the way of entertainment in the evening whether its Open Mic Night, Quiz or Live music. I hope you will all help spread the word and come and enjoy the day/evenings.
