The Countryside Christmas Fair at the heart of a 16,000 acre traditional estate.

There can be few more perfect settings for a Countryside Christmas Fair than the Belvoir Estate. In Capabilty Brown landscaped grounds, Belvoir Castle stands proudly visible from from 5 counties and 50 miles distant in an area renowned for countryside pastimes for centuries. Belvoir is revered by sportsmen internationally as one of the worlds great shoots with a full staff of keepers preparing birds for 73 drives renowned for the quality and number of their testing high birds in a glorious natural landscape.

The estate kennels the renowned Belvoir Hunt at the heart of an area which has become Equestrian Central drawing on the rich traditions of the hunting field to develop wider expertise in other equine disciplines. Each weekend thousands saddle up to enjoy or participate in countryside activities including equestrianism, traditional sports and the simple pleasures of walking or a cycle ride.

The Country Lifestyle
A Country Lifestyle has requirements. Keeping dry when the weather is not as it might be and being shod to cope with the rigours of any terrain mean a style has developed which is instantly recognisable. Clothiers have constantly innovated to meld traditional materials like tweed and leather with newcomers to create a look which is both serviceable, beautiful and classically stylish and which is almost immune to the vagaries of the latest fashions. But when the summer shows, country fairs and horse trials are over it is difficult find everything for the Countryside all in one place. Whether you are a shooter or an equestrian looking for a special or unusual gift or just love the stylish Countryside Look, The Belvoir Countryside Christmas Fair is for you.

We have brought all the best stallholders from the summer shows plus a few newcomers together for a final last minute Christmas Shopathon enabling countryside lovers to buy other countryside lovers the presents they yearn for. With clothing and accessories for him, her and the children, homewares and interior design items for the country home and great gift items for everyone whether on two legs or four, its a luxury department store for the countryside conveniently held at the heart of the countryside for three days over a pre-Christmas weekend.

The Event

The Belvoir Countryside Christmas Fair is a free admission event comprising 75 stalls selling clothing and accessories, tack and sporting equipment, and interior design and homewares suitable for people who enjoy and celebrate a countryside lifestyle. The event takes place in large heated frame marquee pavilions similar to those used for shopping at Badminton and Burleigh.

Attached to the pavilions is a restaurant serving morning coffee, light lunches and afternoon tea along with alcoholic drinks. We also host less formal dining in a high quality food court selling quality British barbecued produce and food from around the world, vegan and vegetarian options available. The site is fully accessible to people with a disability. We welcome dogs on site and there are many walks available locally but for safety reasons dogs (with the exception of guide dogs) are not permitted in the shopping or catering pavilions.

Demographic and Promotion Shopper Profile Belvoir Castle is located at the heart of an affluent rural area with a historical prosperity based on fertile agricultural land and trade. Historically in the 18th, 19th and early 20th centuries the area's quality hunting attracted society's elite and the area retains a deep equestrian tradition with a high regard for sporting and countryside traditions.

The prestigious Belvoir Hunt is kennelled on the estate with the Quorn and the Cottesmore nearby and Belvoir is world-renowned for the quality of its game shooting. More recently the attractive countryside, the wealth of sporting activities, the vibrant social scene and quality local housing stock have combined with fast rail links to London from Grantham (1h 10m) and Peterborough (51m) to attract an affluent influx of people with high disposable incomes and a wish to present well.

Overall the profile is similar to the Cotswolds but with a slightly younger demographic because property remains relatively affordable. Many families have fathers (and sometimes mothers) who work in the City and stay in London in the week but maintain their family home in or close to the Vale of Belvoir. Many more young families with children at home also live in and around the villages and local market towns with mum and dad undertaking a more local commute to Leicester, Sheffield and Nottingham or perhaps working from home online. There is also a significant affluent elderly population. Young singletons may well live in the surrounding local urban centres but road and transport links are good and they are happy to journey out at weekends to enjoy a day in the glorious countryside. The Belvoir Castle Countryside and Horse Lovers Christmas Shopping Fair is being marketed to serve an aspirant, affluent customer base who are pleased to be associated with a countryside look and lifestyle whether or not they actively participate in its activities. They recognise the pleasures of buying, wearing and owning the finer things in life and associating and shopping with people who share their tastes and values.
