A new season's Point-to-Point steeplechasing is just around the corner as we enter the autumn, and after two interrupted winters, we're due a full winter's entertainment to put the past 18 months behind us. Barbury is delighted to play host once again to three fixtures, from December to April, each of which provides valuable opportunities to develop young horses, riders and trainers, that will be household names in the professional sport in years to come.
Barbury is home to top flight equestrian sport at every level. Home to top Jumps trainer Alan King, and within hailing distance of his namesake Neil King at Burderop and Emma Lavelle at Ogbourne St George,Barbury Racecourse is at the centre of a renaissance of Jumps success in north Wiltshire, in which Pointing plays a central part. And of course, the estate plays host to Barbury Horse Trials in July. Truly, this is a setting where excellence can flourish across multiple equine disciplines.
The natural amphitheatre that surrounds the racecourse offers superb viewing of the entire course, easy access to the paddock and winner’s enclosure, and excellent racing ground on our chalky soil to bring out the best in any thoroughbred. From the opening International Meeting to the Tedworth in April, this is a venue where you can enjoy breath-taking scenery, very fresh air, archly competitive racing and great company with like-minded horsemen from across Wiltshire and surrounding counties. www.barburyraces.co.uk
